Introducing deltaQ

Hi - we’re deltaQ! 

We are a climate & sustainability tech community, and we run the dopest climate tech hackathon. Our goal is to bring together diverse groups of people to come up with creative ideas, and then get those ideas out into the world.

Why are we doing this? Humanity is killing the planet. We need this: 

• We have a worsening climate: fires, hurricanes, heatwaves, droughts

• We struggle to meet basic needs: water, electricity, food

• We keep making a bigger footprint: waste, co2, plastic, wildlife destruction

So why hackathons? We know most of the tech to solve our climate issues is out there. But the thing is:

• The right people aren’t thinking and acting together

• The right incentives for innovation are missing

• The right support for people with good ideas doesn’t exist

That’s why we’re here. We want you and our community to come together and work on any idea you want - or even take one of ours:

• Start an alternative bioplastics business

• Improve an algorithm that predicts wildfire spread

• Pitch a fast fashion upcycling brand to investors

• Write a grant proposal for solar panel sidewalks in your city

• Make a prototype of a refrigerator that uses less electricity

Do whatever you want. All we want is that you go for it. And we’ll be there to help you learn, scope, and scale.

And finally - if we think your idea and team is really cool - then we’ll make it our mission to get your idea out there and funded so you can make a lasting impact.
